        Women: Your earnings average 51¢ when a man gets $1.00. A record high, probably.
        In 2003, in the U.S., for everyone who was at least 25 years old and not living in an institution, the pay equity average was 51%.
        Double discrimination has its own story, coming in a moment.
        The Census Bureau, every year, interviews about 50,000 households. They interview every adult and older teen they find there who’s willing. They compile the incomes in the Current Population Survey, which is a highly respected survey, used in many studies. And they put their results on the Internet for anyone to read.
