Pay Equity: A Steep Cliff Exposed

Further Research Wanted

If doing research interests you, let me know your interests or your questions. Or just do it and publish what you find.
For example, there’s a need for better international data, comparable to what we have for the U.S.; the size of the underground, illegal, barter, and unpaid economies in the U.S. and other nations and divided by gender and other demographics; data on capital gains and on refundable tax credits (Federal and not) in the U.S. divided by gender and other demographics; how market forces retard equity in light of judicial decisions and how achieving equity might in turn affect markets; and, for enforcing rights to equal pay and sometimes comparable worth, analyses of legal enforcement problems and counterstrategies.
For another whole bailiwick in economics, consider that female costs of living may be higher than males’ costs. With incomes much lower, too, not much is left for rainy days. Would you care to research living costs by gender, i.e., costs for all necessities and excluding luxuries?
More ideas for research are touched upon in the Data Background, which has a section just on further research.
If trading ideas or coordinating with anyone else doing this research would appeal to you, please contact me: Nick Levinson, P.O. Box 8386, New York, N.Y. 10150, or Nick_Levinson@yahoo.com.
Thank you. You’ll have no shortage of readers when you’re done.
